Setting Sail on a Hunter 290
It's another California Dreaming moment...waking in up in Sunny California and excited to sail the new vessel. Our new baby, Hunter 290 - we're so exicted to have welcomed it into our family! We're still debating a name...It's given name on it's birth certificate (Title)...
Sloopy B
McB Sloop
Dream Catcher
Island Hunter
Mountain Eers
Set Sail
The morning sun rising with the smell of salt sets the mood for an early morning push off from the dock. The sails are flaked, ropes coiled, the stage is set. We started out our journey from the channel islands out into the Pacific Ocean.
Channel Islands
Main sail lifted and we caught a bit of wind, just enough to push us along allowing us to sip coffee and enjoy the bathtub type wake. After we devoured the chocolate croissants that accompanied the morning joe, it was time to hoist the Jib!
We quickly came about and were on a beam...water rushing the edge, spray hitting our faces...awaking our spirits! Before we knew it we were totally and ultimately windward.
We secured the hatch, water now rushing through as we rose over some powerboat wake. I trimmed the jib sheet and main sheet we were in sailor bliss... it's good to be a sailor!

Park City Utah, Olympic Park...the Bobsled!
It was the ride of my life...Park City Utah, Olympic Park...the Bobsled!
Olympic Park was impressive, the Ski Jumps, Bobsled Track, Zip Lines...it was a day of pure adrenaline and fun
The staff asked what kind of ride each one of us would enjoy, that would help us to choose our seat position. I selected the middle seat after hearing the backseat would be the toughest to endure.
We suited up and adjusted our helmet straps and we had a "push start"...Woooosh!
It wasn't until the first curve where we felt the "FORCE WAS WITH US"
In no time...we were at top speed!
The scoreboard! That was the fastest YEEHAW...it left me wanting to ride again!
At the end we had to reload the sled and ride back to the top for the next team to try and beat our time.
The official bobsled of the Winter Olympics!
It's a once in a lifetime ride...I enjoyed it and reccomend this to anyone who is traveling to Utah!
